BEA-TOX

After Care for Dermal Fillers

_

Aftercare for dermal fillers is straightforward, so there’s no need to worry.

Like most non-invasive cosmetic treatments, this is a painless procedure with very little downtime. My name is Bea, and as a highly experienced nurse with full qualifications to administer fillers (including lip fillers), I’ll make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible. Afterwards, you’ll go home armed with all the information you need for the best results.

Thinking About Dermal Fillers?

I only use the best products on the market, which I buy in a specialist pharmacy. These are TEOXANE ® and  STYLAGE ®

Dermal fillers are a form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the human body. Fillers literally “plump up” the volume that’s been lost in your face, and I  use the most advanced technique  for ultra-precise positioning. Take a look at my Dermal Fillers page for more information.

All About After Effects

As a responsible practitioner, it’s my duty to tell you that there can be complications – but also they are exceptionally rare. I have however included information on the known potential side effects to offer you complete transparency.

Err on the side of caution. At all times! Trust is essential. Always book your treatment with someone who fully understands the muscles of the human face – as I do. And of course, a practitioner who understands completely what he or she is doing, and who offers the highest standards of hygiene.

• Immediately afterwards, the treatment area may be a little red or swollen. This should improve after 48 hours. Should you experience bruising, arnica cream should do the trick.

Up to 24 hours afterwards:

• Avoid makeup to reduce the risk of infection.

• Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

• Keep out of the sun, and avoid extremes of heat, eg saunas and steam rooms. Also, it’s best not to undertake any vigorous exercise or swimming (this also applies to anti-wrinkle injections).

• Important: although exceptionally rare, a complication of dermal fillers is vascular occlusion – where a blood vessel is blocked accidentally with filler. Symptoms may include a throbbing and aching pain, paleness, a cold feeling to the tissue and purple streaky mottling. Should any of these occur, get in touch with me immediately, and I will advise you of any further action to take.

• If you see signs of an infection, seek medical help as soon as possible.

• You’ll see the full benefits of the treatment within 14 days. Results are not permanent; periods between top-ups will vary, depending on your metabolism and the procedure you have had.
