How DO dermal fillers work?
Essentially, dermal fillers plump up the parts of your face that you feel may have gone south.
That is:
• You may have deeper nasolabial folds than you would like. They’re the wrinkles or lines from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth. They’re common, and they vary for everyone.
• Alternatively, you may be seeing mouth corner folds, which, together with nasolabial lines, can contribute to ageing.
• Equally, your lips may not be quite as full and plump as they once were.
• Perhaps your cheeks may have sunken a little.
OK – enough of the negative.
Dermal fillers can be your solution
Read on if you’re after a treatment that reduces the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, and that creates contours and adds volume. Dermal fillers are based on hyaluronic acid. This may sound scary, but it’s absolutely not. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that exists naturally in practically every living thing. And in particular, in the human body. It’s a soft, injectable gel that gets to where it needs to be through the careful application of a needle just under your skin.
During your treatment, I will inject an amount of a filler called Teoxane® or STYLAGE® to the area (or areas) you wish me to treat. The result is that the skin thinks it’s getting its very own supply of hyaluronic acid – which in effect it is – and is immediately plumped up.
Fine lines and wrinkles appear instantly reduced, for a softer, natural look. In effect, dermal fillers give back what time may have taken away. They’re safe, with minimal side effects and the outcomes can be nothing short of astonishing.
Your new, refreshed look will last between 6-9 months, with the hyaluronic acid gradually dissolving, and being absorbed by the body.
